Athletic Directors and Assistant Athletic Directors can use a School Event to create a date or time that should be treated as a scheduling conflict for their school.
This is useful for holidays, in-service days, school closures, testing dates, special events, or other dates when games and activities should not be scheduled.
Create a School Blackout Date
- Log in to LeagueMinder.
- From any area where you can add an event, open the New Event form.
- Select School Event as the Event Type.
- Enter a title for the blackout or school event.
- In the When section, enter the applicable date and time.
- If the blackout occurs more than once, use the Repeat option to create a recurring event.
- Turn on Show Other Events as Conflicts.
- Complete any other applicable event information.
- Save the event.
Show the School Event as a Scheduling Conflict
The Show Other Events as Conflicts option is what allows the School Event to function as a scheduling blackout.
When this option is enabled, LeagueMinder will identify competing events as conflicts when users attempt to schedule during the same date and time.
Note: A School Event is not tied to a specific team or facility. It applies at the school or organization level.
Examples of School Blackout Dates
A School Event can be used to block or flag dates such as:
- Holidays
- In-Service Days
- School Closures
- Testing Dates
- Graduation
- School-Wide Events
- Other dates or times when athletic events should not be scheduled
Create a Recurring Blackout
If the blackout occurs on multiple dates, use the Repeat option when creating the School Event.
Recurring options include:
- Weekly
- Monthly
- Custom
For irregular dates, select Custom and choose each individual date that should be included.
For more information about recurring events, see Create Recurring Events in LeagueMinder.
